Braves Boys and Girls Fly by Southeastern

The Shawnee Braves girls soccer team won their season opener against the Southeastern Trojans girls soccer team on Saturday night. The Braves were in control for most of the game, ending with a convincing 12-0 victory. The Braves were led by 3 goals a piece by Alyssa Garberich and Ravjat Singh. The Lady Braves will next take on Hilliard Davidson on Thursday, August 27th at 7 o'clockat Shawnee.
As the evening sun dwindled down and the lights surrounding the Shawnee soccer   field flickered to life, it was the boys turn to take the field. As the boys hoped to start their season off with win and improve on last years 3-13 performance. The locker room before the game was pure hype (believe me, i was there.) They took the field and were looking strong coming out of the gates, but were playing a little too rapidly. After they settled themselves down, #6 Mitchell Dyar (SR.) was able to score on a crossing pass from #17 Chris Hile (JR.) The Braves kept up the pace and #3 Gabe Andorfer (SO.) scored this time, on an assist from #10 Jay Caudill (SR.) Southeastern scored on a late 1st half goal by #17.
As the Second half began the Braves looked to turn it up a notch. #17 Chris Hile (JR.) scored on a beautiful feed from #10 Jay Caudill (SR.) The freshman wonder #7 Ben Ross scored twice (53',63') on assists from Caudill and Hile. Southeastern scored on a goal from cousin to cousin, #14 Eli Tuttle scoring on Senior Goalkeeper #18 Dalton Tuttle. As Tuttle was put out onto the field and Backup Goalkeeper #3 Gabe Andorfer was put in, Tuttle used pure speed to get a pass from #22 Jacob Young (FR.) (who played stellar defense all game) and scored. Southeastern scored another goal late in the game, making the final score Shawnee 6, Southeastern 3. As the Braves came off the field, one thing you may have noticed is Sophomore Adam Fischer (#23) full of pure joy and hyping the Braves up (Fischer also played an amazing game on defense.)
Your Braves next game will be on Wednesday, September 2nd at 7:00 PM @ Urbana
